Twelve technology companies submit their proposals for the Smart Island Lanzarote: Intelligent Biosphere Reserve project

Backed by a total budget of 2.9 million Euros, the project will promote more sustainable development on the island through the use of technology that will allow Lanzarote to be managed as a whole and turn it into a smart tourist destination.

The island’s Art, Culture and Tourism Centres received tenders from twelve different international tech companies for the Smart Island Lanzarote:  Intelligent Biosphere Reserve project.

Smart Island Lanzarote: Intelligent Biosphere Reserve is intended to be an integral platform that will count on both public and private collaboration to boost local development via the island’s digital transformation. The project aims to serve as an example worldwide of good practices when it comes to managing guest experience and real-time monitoring of how the island evolves in terms of its sustainability.

The main focus of this project is to promote both sustainable and quality tourism which is tailored to tourist preferences and which at the same time highlights the island’s natural and cultural heritage as well as its commitment to sustainability.
