Members of ASOLAN’s Sustainable Accommodation Group invite the island’s students on educational visits

80 first year pupils from CEIP Concepción primary school in Puerto del Carmen and 13 students from the Tinajo secondary school have been given guided tours of different hotels on the island to see how these affiliated members of ASOLAN’s Sustainable Accommodation Group (GAS) successfully implement environmentally-friendly policies in their establishments.

The aim of this educational initiative is to show how a hotel can be run on the basis of responsible consumption and for the students to see for themselves the many resources available to us and how they can best be exploited.

According to ASOLAN; ‘Environmental education must be taught from a young age, and children and young people should know ll about clean energy sources and new technologies and how they can be applied to the hotel sector.’
