Lanzarote will host in October the IV Forum of Agroecology and Biodiversity of Canary Islands

The municipality of Haría will host, from 13 to 16 October, the IV Forum of Agro-ecology and Biodiversity of the Canary Islands, event promoted by the Canary Islands Government, which is held every two years in the archipelago in order to promote the ecological production of the Islands and promote its use.

This initiative, organized by the Instituto Canario de Calidad Agroalimentaria (ICCA) with the support of the insular Council and the municipality of Haria, comprises different events, which include the fair IV of Agro-ecology, which will feature a flea market of organic products in all the Islands, information booths, workshops, storytelling, musical performances and eco canteen, in which the Agro-ecology and organic food will work as backbone.

In addition, a new edition of the fair of agricultural biodiversity in the Canary Islands, promoted by networks seeds insular and directed to foster the recovery, conservation and exchange of seed of traditional varieties will be held.

Joins offer the II Encuentro de Eco-comedores de Canarias, involving farmers, cooks and members of management teams and associations of mothers and fathers of schools that are part of this program-aiming at the improvement of the quality of the food in school canteens through the introduction of fresh, local organic products and season-, next to groups linked to similar experiences developed in the Peninsula, to exchange experiences.

Also, the IV Meeting of Organic Operators, will be held in the framework of which we will analyze the evolution of the Action Plan for the development of organic in the Canary Islands and the role played by the insular tables that make up the platform for coordination of the organic sector in the Islands.
