Not only has the work of The Sustainable Housing Group, GAS, been recognised by the Canary Islands Government who awarded the group the ‘Medal for Excellence in Tourism Excellence’, but also by the Lanzarote Island Cabildo who presented it with the ‘Isla de Lanzarote Award’. The awards have been given in recognition of the contribution GAS makes to promoting Lanzarote as a Biosphere Reserve whilst helping hotels to implement strategies that make them more competitive in the modern market by integrating the environmental and social concerns of their guests and the local community.
