The book “La Educación Patrimonial en Lanzarote” (“The Heritage Education in Lanzarote”) receives the recognition of the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry of Education has recognized the didactic wrok of the book “The Heritage Education in Lanzarote: Theory and practice in the classrooms”, edited by the Concejalía de Cultura of the Arrecife City Council, directed by Rafael Juan González and coordinated by Sanjo Fuentes, and encouraging the Coordinator and editors of the publication it was presented at the 3rd International Congress on Heritage Education held in Madrid from 26 to 28 October.

This publication gathers experiences designed by pupils who took part in the Lanzarote Heritage Education Program during the academic year 2014-15. An edition which is intended to be useful both for teachers and for the property managers.

The first one, interested in renewing their methodologies for most innovative educational strategies, will find in it a set of good practices developed in the classrooms in which cultural heritage becomes an effective instrument for developing the curricular contents. And the seconds one, have a menu of economic recipes in which students comes to dynamize the cultural heritage of Lanzarote, betting on an improvement in the Museums and cultural offer of the island, especially for its capital, Arrecife. Proposing, creatively and responsibly, a balance between heritage, tourism and sustainable development.
