The aim of Origorooms is to provide a unique platform in Spain that provides a listing of hotels which are committed to the three pillars of sustainable tourism and social responsibility.
Architecture is taken into consideration in that it should be a sustainable design, a passive house building, for example. It should also make use of clean energies such as geothermal or biomass.
As far as environmental management is concerned, a hotel should be implementing measures which reduce their ecological footprint, such as recycling wastewater and rainwater, composting, using biodegradable cleaning products, creating organic gardens etc.
Another consideration as to whether or not a hotel is included in the listings is its social management and the measures a hotel takes to generate wealth in the local environment, such as using km0 products and local suppliers as well as implementing social action schemes.
