Grevislan, Wolfredo Wildpret de la Torre and Alejandro Perdomo Placeres will receive this Friday the awards ‘References of the Biosphere of 2014’

Coinciding with the 23rd anniversary of the programmed events to commemorate the ‘Lanzarote, Biosphere Reserve’ title of Unesco (1993), the Cabildo of Lanzarote will take place this Friday, October 21, in the MIAC-Castillo de San José, the ceremony of the awards for the second edition of the Referentes de la Biosfera.
 
The Special Center of employment Grevislan (a subsidiary of the Association of disabled people of Lanzarote, Adislan) will receive at this public event, the prize Referentes de la Biosfera de 2014, failed by the members of the new Board of the Council of the Reserve of the Lanzarote Biosphere in the past month of July.
 
A second and third prize will be delivered, respectively, to Wolfredo Wildpret de la Torre (scientist, Professor Emeritus by the University of La Laguna and former member of the Council of the Reserva de la Biosfera) and Alejandro Perdomo Placeres, linked to the revaluation of the breeding of cochineal.
 
The winners will receive a reproduction of the diploma of UNESCO and the work artistic “Estabilidad” (Stability) of the authors, Javier Haro Greppi and Jorge Vázquez Consuegra.
 
This will be the second edition of the awards that are convened every two years, aiming to identify, acknowledge and promote the work of people, groups, organizations and companies that are developing projects, experiences and actions that benefit the whole of the insular society and help with its commitment to improve the quality of environment and life of the population of Lanzarote.
